QCB UNDERGRADUATE
QBIO MAJOR
"QBIO gave me the skillset to contribute to my lab's research work as an undergraduate and kept me deeply engaged in my coursework."
Kate Cunningham
Class of 2020
The Bachelor of Science in Quantitative Biology from the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences at USC is the premier degree for undergraduate students seeking to obtain an extraordinary education beyond that of a traditional biology major.
With a cutting edge curriculum that integrates a rigorous foundation in the biological sciences along with advanced mathematics and computer science, the B.S. in Quantitative Biology offers students a distinct competitive edge in the workforce and is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to excel in a world increasingly driven by data.
THE QBIO MAJOR
The QBIO major allows biology students to achieve a comprehensive background in the quantitative sciences including computer science and statistics which are essential for modern, data-driven biology. We call this the 21st century biology. Students will take an introductory seminar, participate in undergraduate research and write an honors thesis. The general education, writing, language and diversity requirements for a USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences degree are applicable.
